Dogwood

It is Good Friday, and it is impossible to use the word “good” to describe what Jesus went through being beaten, adorned with a crown of thorns, and ultimately dying on a cross for you and me. But now, we have a glimmer of hope because of his sacrifice.

The Legend of the Dogwood Tree, is that it was the tree used to make the Cross on which Jesus died. This poem is about Jesus’ childhood as a Carpenter, and wondering if he knew what was to come.
