I feel like us as Americans, always have something going on, even when we don’t have something going on. Like when someone needs our help, we’re so quick to give ten reasons why we can’t help them. “Hey man, can you help me move stuff out of my apartment into my new house?” “Nah man, the new episode of my favorite TV show comes on tonight.” Americans suck as friends. Hell, Jesus could tell you that he needs your help, and you would probably find some excuse as to why you couldn’t help him. We don’t manage time well. We would rather be cooped up in our houses playing XBox, than outside taking in just how marvelous this world is. What is wrong with us? Are we really that big idiots? God has given us the Great Commission, like, that is our job. Yeah we have to support ourselves with physical jobs, but that is our spiritual job. But yet we come up with stupid reasons as to why we can’t do it. “Go tell people about Jesus today? I can’t man, my friend who I haven’t seen in 3 weeks is coming into town today, so I need to hang out with him. Maybe some other time.”
Imagine if God was too busy to create this world. Imagine if God was too busy to create the human species. Imagine if Jesus was too busy to die on the cross for us. Imagine where you would be right now if God was too busy for you.
You are never “too busy” for the things that really matter.
