At a very young age, my Dad taught me how to treat women; because if I ever disrespected my mother; I paid for it. I love my Mom to death, but sometimes, I disrespected her and treated her ways I shouldn’t. I think it’s very true that sometimes you hurt the people you love, the most. Because they expect more from you, than other people. One thing I can’t stand now-a-days, is that respect from “Men” to women doesn’t really exist anymore. I see all these guys treat women like animals, over and over. While I’m at work, I often see ladies who are with their husbands, look into my eyes as if they are screaming “SAVE ME!!!”, and their’s nothing I can do. I’ve seen guys say very ugly or hurtful things to their wives or girlfriends. It disturbs me. Like the rapper KB says: “They’re basically little boys with muscles and a mustache.” Then you have guys who go around screwing every girl they can get their hands on, as if that was the purpose of life. Totally ignoring the fact they take a piece of each girls soul they lay with. God makes very clear how guys are to treat women; “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” -Ephesians 5:25 Even though it says Husbands and Wives, it should easily be Men and Women. Girls are so beautiful, and God made them that way. When we ignore their beauty, we treat them like they are worthless. My favorite band (As Cities Burn) has a song about this subject, the intro is about a man’s confession about his love for power over his woman. It says: “Am I a monster when I sink my teeth into her; when I don’t love her? No, I don’t love you, forgive me darling, but love has nothing to do with this. It has nothing to do with how I can’t stop; until I get what I want from you. At the end of the song, the singer says something that always sticks with me. Any time I try to justify disrespecting anybody, I think about these lyrics; “How long will we blame the devils on our shoulders, and pose like angels on the outside? When all I am is a monster.”
Guys, It’s time to Man Up!
