So tonight we talked about doubt at church with my youth. How it can sometimes be a terrible thing, but sometimes our doubt is what can push us closer to God. Doubting him can sometimes be, what causes him to prove to us that He’s still there, and He still cares.
After all the thinking about doubt, I remembered reading through Psalms, and finding the following verse: “But you, O God will send the wicked down to the pit of destruction. Murderers and liars will die young, but I am trusting you to save me.” Psalms 55:23.
Can you comprehend how hard it is not to doubt? This verse says that sinners will be die young and be sent to hell. I don’t know if you know this, but I’m a SINNER. It’s so easy to have doubts, when it comes to to our salvation. A big doubt I always have is; Why would such a BIG God care about such a little me. That is where the opposite of doubt comes in, and is mentioned at the end of that verse.
“I am trusting you to save me.” TRUST. Even when we can’t help but doubt, we can trust that God knows what He is doing. In the end, that’s all that really matters.
Yes, we doubt.
Yes, we’re sinners.
Yes, we deserve hell.
Yes, we trust.
Yes, Jesus died for us.
Yes, we get heaven instead.
