Love Jealous One, Love.

I’m a very jealous person by nature. I always have been and probably always will be. In relationships, I tend to be overprotective, and always worrying. But, that’s who I am.

My favorite book in the bible is James, probably cause it’s easy to read and very straight forward. With that being said, everytime I read it, I find myself convicted about something. This time, it was about jealousy.

Check it out, James 3:15 says: “For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.” See what I mean? Fairly straght forward, huh? It’ saying, that things we do/show/feel everyday are demonic (of demons aka of the devil.)  When I’m jealous over a girl, I am displaying demonic behavior. Because the bible also says in 1 John 1:5-6: “This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.  So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.” If there is demonic presence in our lives, God can not and will not be there.

It is my prayer that we will all examen our lives when it comes to jealosy and selfishness. The we will learn to live in love, and understanding. I know now that earthly relationships are just temporary. Yes, I want to fall in love someday, I want to sweep a girl off her feet. But, my focus should be on my relationship with God, not girls. He will provide the girl, In his perfect timing.

If you’re interested, I got the title from this song. As Cities Burn – Love Jealous One, Love.

  1. Hey Stephen, My advice to you is Stop looking God will show you her in His time, I promise. When I stopped Looking she was put in my path, Gran it, IT wasn’t the easiest of Relastionships. I’ve have some of the same issues that you show but like the Bible says It not God’s Wisdom. Do I still deal with it yes, Its like Paul says “He has this thorn that won’t go away.” Thinking about that passage we all suffer from some type of thorn.
